distro: live publishing
15th-25th August, 2025 Muine Bheag Community Centre, R21 PX68
Curated by Chloe Maguire as part of COMMUNE presented by Muine Bheag Arts
Distro: Live Publishing is a temporary publishing studio and evolving exhibition space hosted in the Muine Bheag Community Centre as part of COMMUNE. The project brings together artists, writers, collectives, community groups and visitors to take part in workshops and drop-in sessions which facilitate experimentation with modes of collective publishing.
Distro: Live Publishing responds to themes emerging in the wider programme, fostering dialogue and collaboration beyond the studio.Participants have access to a temporary DIY studio stocked with tools and materials. Each session, whether planned or improvised, is an opportunity to work collaboratively and leave behind visible traces: zines, diagrams, test prints, and process notes.
The resulting materials are gathered into a shared, evolving exhibition that culminates in a final presentation open to the public on 24th & 25th August, curated by Chloe Maguire. This exhibition is not a display of polished outcomes but a living archive of publishing as a process, collaborative, provisional, and rooted in the act of making together.
