Redesigning Care (2025)

Redesigning Care at Temple Bar Gallery & Studios with Emma Quin was our first workshop exploring female health, collective care, and alternative support systems. Drawing on ideas from Matriarchal Design Futures, participants engaged in exercises that centred nourishment, attunement, and shared  responsibility. Through conversation and collaboration, we reflected on how artists can sustain themselves and one another, imagining new models of care and creative community. This project will continue in 2026. Kindly supported by Cavan Arts Office.

Emma Quin's practice draws on her background in sociology, blending theory, collaboration, and material exploration. She is a Co-Director of Catalyst Arts (Belfast), where she has co-curated artist-led projects through a non-hierarchical model, collaborated internationally through Gluttt with Glassbox (Paris), and is preparing to curate her first solo exhibition Non stick frying pan (Oct 2025).

Her research and practice align beautifully with the ethos of Matriarchal Design Futures, a work-in-progress design framework “centring the practices and values of caregiving and nurturing, which holds for all identities: caregivers, mothers, non-mothers, women, men, and nonbinary alike.”
